Dear Friends and Family,
Dominique and I are thrilled to have you join us as we celebrate our wedding day! Your presence means the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for your love and support.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities and have a memorable time, we’ve decided to make our wedding an adult-only event. While we will miss the little ones, we hope this allows all of us to relax and fully celebrate together.

I met Ryen at Renaissance High School in 2006. We got close because we shared so many classes to accommodate our accelerated math schedule. We also attended the University of Michigan together, becoming roommates for a year. Since graduating 11 years ago, we have supported each other through many life milestones.

Rooted in creativity, community and connection, I’ve always believed in the power of formative experiences—and one of my favorites was meeting Ryen at a University of Michigan engineering camp when we were just teens.
What started as a summer adventure turned into a lifelong friendship built on music, food, laughter and showing up for each other through every season.
Being part of this next chapter as she marries her best friend, Dom, is an honor and a full-circle moment.

Ryen and I met in 2015 at Teach for America Corp Member Orientation. She was just returning to Detroit from Texas and I was new to Detroit. She welcomed me to the D! She encouraged me on days when I felt teaching wasn’t it for me. From that day forth we were besties. Standing next to her on her special day is going to give me a chance to return a small piece of all she had given me as a friend.

From the moment I met Domo—when I took his milkshake—we became instant best friends. Since 2008, he’s been my ride or die, my right-hand man, always down for whatever I’m into. Even though he may annoy me at times, I couldn’t be more honored to stand beside him on this amazing and special day.

What can I say about Dominique? That’s my boy! I met Nique through a mutual friend and honestly we’ve been thick as thieves since. He’s one of the only people I can yap to about basically nothing and we’ll still be laughing for hours. Over the years I’ve been lucky to gain a great base of friends and that’s all because of Nique adopting me into the fold. Plus now I’ve gained a new sister in Ryen who’s always been acceptive of my shenanigans. In any case, I’m glad to be able to celebrate his and Ryen’s marriage and I wish you guys the best!

Dominique and I have been friends for over 20 years, first connecting through our close friend James Bird. We clicked instantly—dancing, playing sports, and laughing over our light voices. Dom is like a brother to me. We got terrorized by Diamond, yelled at by his mom, and shared heartfelt talks and hugs with his grandma, Eloise—memories I’ll always treasure. Though life has made us a bit more distant over time, every time we reconnect, it’s like no time has passed. That’s the bond we’ve always had. I’m so happy to see Dom marry his best friend and life partner, Ryen—she’s everything he deserves.
